CBI on Wednesday arrested the founders of Micromax mobile Rajesh Aggarwal and Manish Tooley for allegedly bribing civil officials in New Delhi to build a banquet hall.
Rajesh Aggarwal Micromax. PTINDTV said the investigative body was allegedly caught MCD officials red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 30 lakh. Post the arrest, the CBI raided the homes of one of other officers and communications restored 40 MCD lakh lakh from one of his houses.
The times of India quotes the CBI sources as saying that Aggarwal and Tooley were asked to pay Rs 50 lakh engineers – Rajesh Wadhwa (superintending engineer), K Singh (Executive Engineer), Mahinder (engineer) and the DDA to facilitate mine clearance engineer.
Micromax founders, though, negotiations and reduced the amount of Rs 30 lakh, the report further said.
Aggarwal said Tooley deal entered and civil authority and permission to build a banquet hall in Wazirpur.
