New Delhi, August 8  Young people from around the country demanded the immediate restoration of suspended Uttar Pradesh IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal and use social media to spread the word.


Currently over 35 support groups as the "Iron Lady of Durga" and "justice for Durga" on the popular social networking site Facebook and other sites.


There are even photos with inspirational quotes, Nagpal are distributed on a popular chat platforms like Whatsapp and Blackberry Messenger.


"She was suspended for doing her duties honestly. This is the future of India where corrupt rule us and punish those who go against their will, "said fuming 19-year-old, a student from Jyothika Tamil Nadu, which is seeking to join the Indian police service (IPS).


"But these incidents really demoralized," she added.


Nagpal, a 28-year-old 2009 batch Indian administrative service (IAS), which took on sand mafia in Noida, was suspended by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on July 29.


The State Government says she was suspended for ordering the demolition of the walls of the mosque, and that could lead to tension. Nagpal denies the accusation.


For 28-year-old Raman Chhetri, a resident of Kalimpong in West Bengal, Nagpal is the role model and motivation for many young people, like him.

Young also said that Nagpal must be restored immediately.

"It would be disastrous if civil servants start working under the influence and fear of corrupt politicians," he added.
